visual language of stitched marks
Merging textile techniques with painting, my work combines the stitched
line and painting on paper to blur the edge between macro and micro. Depicting
real and imagined landscapes filtered through memory, referencing map
theory and navigational charts, these are monumental works on an intimate
scale, abstract details of personal geography.
A sense of
place, real and imagined
Inspiration comes from the prairie skies, river-flanked
woodlands, and gentle topography of my native Illinois.
